Since the first competition in 1929, Leavenworth's Ski Hill has been synonymous with world class ski jumping and world records. Crowds of over 7,000 watched as Olav Ulland won the world championships in 1946. Distances increased over the years, from 111 feet in 1929 by former world champion Sigurd Hansen to the world jump jump of 324 feet by Toralf Engan in 1965. National and international ski jumping championships have been the center of attention in Leavenworth for more than 70 years. We hope that you visit Ski Hill while in Leavenworth. Look around at the pictures on our walls and of course our huge mural and you will see ski jumping history.
